PHILOSOPHY
Emily-1.jpg

I'm Emily Jones, Mom, veteran spouse, lover of travel, and an accredited trauma informed life coach through the ICF. I am a woman who loves new experiences and moments, good coffee and fresh air.

Trauma is not defined as one specific instance. Trauma is any deeply distressing or disturbing experience. It can be living in extreme stress, an anxiety inducing job for an extended period of time, through any type of more well known trauma such as abandonment or abuse. As a trauma informed coach I am here to hold space for you and your story, whatever it is, so that you can uncover the root causes of your struggles and shift them.

 When I learned to lean into my healing and what my soul really craved, I was able to unravel the blocks in my life. Everything started to come back to me.

Our strengths, the clarity in our values, our ability to move through this world in the way that feels most empowering and grounded for us - It's always a work in progress. Together we can uncover deeper understanding and tools that help in your growth and understanding of self.

Because we rise by lifting others, and that is a ripple that will continue forever.

What To Expect

What does your coaching look like?

As a trained Trauma Informed Coach, I partner with you to build a foundation of better understanding of your emotional triggers and needs, help you find and work with your strengths to achieve your goals in a way that aligns with who you are, and create a safe space to work through burnout and boundary needs.

As a coach, I’ve worked with various populations including military families, corporate clients dealing with Psychological Safety and Burnout, individuals with medical trauma, and refugee aid workers. I understand the need for individualized care, so I make sure to work with my clients in a way that really helps them feel safe and heard. There is not one approach that fits everyone, but creating a safe space for you as the client and keeping our dialogue open helps everyone feel like they can bring their best self in a non-judgemental environment.

My approach helps my clients to create a strong foundation, define their goals, move towards growth, and work through blocks that come up along the way. When coaching I utilize aspects of somatic therapy, grounding work, and neuro-linguistic programming in a way so that my clients can bring these tools with them between sessions or when our coaching is done. I look forward to working with you!

Some typical topics that come up are:

* Boundary and Goal Setting

* Burnout Recovery or Prevention

* Grounding through Triggering Moments or events

* Creating Mental Space

* Neurodiverse populations

* Medical Trauma

* Workplace Trauma - Psychologically Safe/Unsafe work environments

YOU WERE NEVER BROKEN.

YOU WERE MADE TO HEAL, TO GROW,

TO THRIVE IN JOY.

What is trauma informed coaching?

Trauma informed coaching is a supportive coaching practice with an understanding of how trauma impacts our ability to have relationships, set and accomplish goals, and to function in our day to day life. As a trauma informed coach I take into account how trauma impacts my clients brains and bodies, and how it is stored within our bodies, hindering us from healing. The goal with Trauma informed coaching is not to diagnose mental illnesses or traumas, but to help you live fully WHIILE you are healing from them.

As your coach, I focus on moving forward, rather than reliving the past. How are you being triggered right now? What is holding you back from the future you hope to have?

My job is to help you truly understand that trauma is not a life sentence. You can learn to reground when you are triggered. You can reconnect to your inner knowing, and come to the understanding that the stories you hold about yourself no longer get to hold you back. They do not have the power. You do.

But don't I need to see a therapist?

You may. If your trauma is brand new and fresh then a licensed therapist may be the way to go. If you are in need of a trusted therapist and don't know where to turn, I have a curated list of those that I trust to help you through this time.

But there comes a time when retelling your story can do more harm than good. If you've worked through traditional therapy and are not having success releasing your traumas, then trauma informed coaching may be for you.

Most of the time, and never if you are uncomfortable with it, do I need to know the details of your trauma. Sounds crazy right?

I focus on your thoughts and feelings right here and now, because those are what you are currently giving your power to. As we begin to work on these thoughts that are created, you will uncover stories that you hold about yourself that you didn't even realize were there. This is why coaching is so powerful.
